Medical acupuncture (dry needling)
Also known as dry needling: fine, sterile needles placed into trigger points and tight muscles to reduce pain, ease tension and improve how you move, often with immediate results.
Target pain, enhance recovery
- Relieves pain
- Releases endorphins and other natural painkillers.
- Eases muscle tension
- Helps tight muscles relax so you can move more freely.
- Speeds recovery
- Promotes blood flow and healing in the treated area.
When dry needling works best
It's especially effective for long-standing back, neck or shoulder pain, tight muscles and trigger points, and injuries that haven't responded to other treatment.
Not keen on needles? Anxiety releases stress hormones that can work against the treatment, so just tell us and we'll suggest an alternative.
What to expect
Head to the centre's reception and let them know you have an appointment. They'll buzz you through, and your therapist will come and collect you.
We'll talk through your symptoms and medical history and check that acupuncture is right for you.
Small, sterile, single-use needles go into the targeted areas. Most people feel only a mild ache or tingling.
Many people notice less pain and easier movement straight away. We will tell you what to expect over the next day or two.
